Prayer in Busy Days

Things have become increasingly busy here lately. We watch our almost 7 year old granddaughter every weekend now. We've had many appointments of various kinds lately. When things get busy it is often very easy to let the truly important things slide in favor of the more urgent things that press into our day.It is often difficult during such times to see God's face,to sense His abiding presence with us.I found the following selection in a book called"Beautiful Living."This book contains the writings of J.R. Miller, one of the most revered authors in both America and England at the turn of the 20th century. They were compiled by James Bell...

It is in prayer that God shows His face to His children, that they have visions of His beauty and glory, that the sweet promises of His love come down as gifts into their hearts, and that they are transformed into His likeness. If you wish to be blessed, allow many seasons of prayer into your busy, harassed, tempted and struggling life.It is in these quiet moments that you really grow.Somewhere in every stressful, frantic day get a little"silent time"for prayer. It will bring heaven down into your heart and make you strong for His service.

Blessings~Sharon

good morning Sharon,

I hope your time with your granddaughter builds wonderful memories for both you and her. What a blessing to have good family.

I'm not familiar with J.R. Miller and had to do research to get somewhat acquainted with the gentlemen.

He's right about one thing especially, to make some time to be with God each day.

Good Morning Sparrow~
We are building memories and I am grateful for that.I never knew any of my grandparents as they all died before I was born. That combined with coming from a somewhat fractured family left me with few childhood memories and none of extended family(aunts, uncles, etc).I am Hope's step-grammie but she knows that and does not care. She knows Bapa was married before and she stillsays I'm her favorite Gramma...LOL...we'll be going to pick her up later this morning so her Mama can go to work...
I was not familiar with J.R. Miller either until I found this beautiful little book at the coast...

Hi Sharon, What a gorgeous photo. Just the picture itself already ministered to me. Good thoughts about allowing many seasons of prayer into a busy life. I needed that reminder!

Good Morning Sharon,

Thank you for blogging by Hill Country Thoughts. I so appreciate it.

Thank you for the reminder to take time, to be quiet, to enjoy the Lord in the midst of life, for it is in the quiet time and in the midst of of the storms, that we learn to hear that still small voice, that will change us.

Blessings my friend!
